I didn’t want to go through another winter in Melbourne putting on 10+ kilos of weight and having to spend most of summer trying to lose it. With a holiday planed for Thailand in October, there wouldn’t be much time to get into shape either. This winter was going to be different. I’d read some life changing stories in previous women’s fitness and health magazines and thought if these’s women could change there life around I could give it a go. I wanted to make sure this would be a lifestyle change, not a short term change so I goggled online to see what programs I could find and that’s were I found Ideal bodies online. I was able to see and read heaps of success stories from people who followed the individual food and workout programs. So after a few questions to Sue I signed up and was on my way to a better me.

The first few weeks were great. I was right into it going strong, not tempted by any foods outside of my program and really enjoying it. Then something happened in week 4. I missed 3 days straight of training due to 12+ hour shifts at work each day and I had the added stress at home trying to organize things as we were moving house. So I did what I always did in the pass and turn to comfort foods containing lots of sugar.  But the one thing I did different this time was on day 5 of not working out or eating the right foods I emailed my support feedback coach Hilary and told her what I had done. Which in the past I would of kept it to myself as I wouldn’t want anyone to think I failed. She gave me words of support and rather then just give up I headed to the gym and worked my butt off and got right back on track.

It was week 12 before I knew it and I was happy with the way I looked for the first time in ages and proud of what I archived. It taught me that things don’t always go to plain and you can have bad days you just have to stop and remember why you lost the weight in the first place and get right back on track ASAP. It’s like riding a horse; if you fall you get right back on and ride again. I’m proof of that.

The biggest help I can give anyone about to start a healthy lifestyle plain is to plain your next days meals the night before and keep with you in a cooler bag if your on the go all day. That way if you get hungry you won’t need to find somewhere to get food and be tempted to cheat as your food will already be with you.

My favorite meals were stir fry chicken, and of course the pancakes at breakfast - who doesn’t like pancakes?
