Rebecca Brinkley's Success Story

I have always had issues with my body. Ever since I was a teenager, I have continuously struggled with attaining my ideal body shape. I have always had skinny legs, so could get away with wearing baggy tops to hide my tummy.
I used to think it was genetic and that there was nothing I could do until I discovered Ideal Bodies Online and saw the before and after pictures. Gotta love those pics!
I thought if single women with kids can do it, then I can - I have no kids, a stress-free job, and a lot of time! I had always been active, but was making so many mistakes. I was running too much and literally burning all my muscle.
My program included cardio, but a lot less than what I was doing, and included more resistance training.
The 5 meals were great, and I never went hungry. Of course, I struggled at times as we all do, and my biggest challenge was alcohol. I was determined to stick to the plan, so I adjusted my social life. Instead of going to the pub, I went to the movies, or met friends for coffee instead.
My biggest tip is to always be prepared! I know, I know...every one says that, but it’s so true! Whenever I fell off the program, it was when I was not prepared. Preparation does not just mean preparing your meals, but also thinking about your workouts.
I would prepare my clothes, Ipod, sneakers etc, the night before so they would be ready to throw on first thing in the morning. Being prepared for social occasions really got me through. I scheduled my free choice meals for birthday parties or work drinks so I was able to relax and let my hair down on occasions. If I wanted to treat myself, I would avoid food as a treat and instead had facials or my nails and hair done.
If I really wanted to treat myself with something yummy I would have pancakes for breaky. I made them with oats, egg whites, and cottage cheese, and topped them off with sugar-free maple syrup drizzled on top…. delicious!
One thing to remember is that this is not just about 12 weeks, but a lifestyle change. I loved the challenge of the 12 weeks so much that I am signing up again for another 12 weeks! Thanks Kristin and Sue and all the other members who helped me through.
