Natalie's Story
I am 36 years old, I have two children, and a wonderful husband who has supported me through out the last 12 weeks of my weight loss challenge. Only twelve weeks ago, I was at my heaviest weight ever. I was starting to feel very tired, unhealthy and unattractive.
What contributed to my weight gain was too much eating of the wrong foods, drinking and just pure laziness, it was starting to get out of control and my self esteem levels were hitting an all time low. I noticed gradually that my clothes were starting to feel a lot tighter on me. I was embarrassed with the way I looked and I started to wear track suit pants and baggy tops a lot more to cover myself up so no one could see how much weight I was putting on.
I Covered Up The Whole Time
When my family and I went away for a holiday during the Christmas period, instead of being one of those women who was quite comfortable walking around in bathers on the beach, I just covered myself up the whole time in tee shirts and shorts feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. It was only then I decided I didn’t want to look like this anymore and that enough was enough and as soon as my children’s school holidays were over, I was going to do something about it.
No more excuses.
Attempted To Lose Weight 3 Times Before
I have actually attempted to lose weight three times in the past, even joined up at my local gym. I entered the 12 week Body Blitz challenge three times but failed every time. I was not mentally prepared and my eating was all wrong. I didn’t have the right knowledge and information in front of me.
Before I decided to attempt to lose weight again, I knew I needed the help from a professional. I had actually come across a number of articles written on or by Sue Heintze and Ideal Bodies Online in fitness magazines that I’ve bought in the past. They were success stories of other women and their amazing body transformations. I thought to myself ‘that could be me too!’. I promptly went online to have a look at the website and make my initial enquiry. Within 2 weeks I had all the information that I needed to start.
Never Got Bored With My Nutrition
I did all my training at home. My husband actually bought a home gym, free weights and a elliptical trainer over a year ago for his own personal use but I was always too lazy to use it - until now. I never got bored with my nutrition plan or training program as it was updated regularly.
The access to recipes, library information and the forum was fantastic and the online support from my very own feedback coach to help me through out my 12 weeks with any problems that I had along the way was an absolute bonus.
I must admit I didn’t have the perfect 12 weeks. At first I did not find it easy - so much to read and learn, getting up for those early morning weight training and cardio sessions took a bit of getting used to but as time went on things just got easier and it all became routine.
In the fourth week I injured my shoulder through work which put a stop to my upper body workouts for awhile which was quite frustrating but I kept on persisting with my lower body workouts and cardio sessions.
I had to always stay and think positive and remind myself every day that I can do this. The food craving and alcohol temptations were always in front of me but I chose to stay strong and kept up with my healthy eating plan and only allowed myself to have one cheat meal every second weekend.
I Have A Lot More Energy
I find now that I have a lot more energy, I am not as tired anymore though the day now and I am even sleeping through the night a lot better. I have been receiving a lot of compliments from family members and work colleagues on how much healthier and happier I look now and that in it self has definitely given me more of a confidence boost and makes me want to strive for more.
It has been an amazing journey and I know for me it’s only going to get better.
