My Life Changing Experience

I never believed that not only would I stick and follow the 12 week challenge, but that I would “win” in so many ways.

Like so many before me, I struggled to get the baby weight off after the birth of my third child.  Working full time with three children meant that finding time to exercise was incredibly hard.

Living in a remote part of Western Australia also meant that core facilities such as a crèche at the local gym were not available.  That, together with daily temperatures soaring over 35 degrees made exercising outside just as hard.

After reading through various copies of Australian Women’s Health & Fitness Magazine, I suddenly realized that the Body Blitz was just what I needed to kick start my get fit campaign.  After just a week into it, I really looked into the option of signing up with Sue and decided life was too short and I really needed a gentle push in the right direction.

The support that was provided to me through Sue and my feedback coach, Michelle, together with the Member’s Forum, was fantastic and it was great to know that so many others had faced similar struggles.

The Weight Started To Drop Off

Within a couple of weeks the weight started to drop off but more importantly, I was getting used to waking up early and going out for a walk/jog.  It took my family a while to get used to my early mornings and different eating habits but they soon got used to it.

My 3 year old even started to enjoy my healthy pancakes!

Everything was going smoothly until I injured my back at around week 8.  The injury was due to a lot of contributing factors such as poor posture, wearing heels, carrying the baby on my hip, three pregnancies etc – it was two weeks before I could even stand up properly.

It would have been easy for me to have thrown the towel in defeat but I had worked so hard and was determined to see the challenge through to the end.

A Whole Change

The changes haven’t just been to my body but also to my mind.  During the challenge, I realized how much I no longer enjoyed working in an office and was desperate to try something completely different.

I started my correspondence course to become a personal trainer and I am now getting ready to start my own personal training business in the town where I live.  The connection between the mind and the body is one that will never cease to amaze me and my journey to find more information and answers continues.
