Hi, I’m still alive!

I’ve been a bit too brain dead and busy to be sitting down at the end of the day to blog.  So I haven’t.  And then I took a few days off to take a trip to Victor Harbor, in the hope I would spend a few lazy days by the beach, in the sun.  No such luck.  As soon as we headed in, the clouds descended.  It rained, blew and was bloody cold.  I was pissy.  Add to that I had ‘women’s problems’ for 2 days, forgot my thyroid medication, and so was feeling very cotton wool headed, sleepy and grumpy.  Today, our last day, I felt a little better.  Even played tennis.  Because it has been cold and wet have done nothing else except visit wineries, a cheese factory, eat (mostly crap) and drink.  Bbecause I wasn’t prepared enough and we don’t have a kitchen (I have some cottage cheese, yoghurt and berries in the fridge but that’s about the extent of it) I haven’t even had any veggies apart from a salad the first night.  I haven’t felt like training, walking, or doing any work (which I hadn’t planned to do, apart from this big project I’m working on – but I just couldn’t concentrate).

And my final bitch of the night – good coffee is hard to come by here.   So, my holiday by the beach sucked.  Definitely going up north next time.  Every time (except 1) I have been here in mid summer it’s been cold, wet and windy.  WTF?

And so.  Since I have been so lazy I am feeling rather crappy.  However, I have at least got my training and diet planned for comp.  I’m not pregnant, again, so my focus shifts to something else.  Bit over that.

I am having Mike Robertson write my programs.  He offered a great special, half price online training to raise money for the Haiti earthquake victims.  I snapped it up but will have to wait a few weeks for my program, but that’s ok.  I went to a seminar of Mike’s this time last year in Melbourne.  He is an expert in knees, and various other correctional exercise stuff so I look forward to learning more about injury prehab and rehab while working toward my comp.  Let’s see if my hammy improves.  Am looking forward to something new, my training has been stale and a bit lacklustre.

Decided to do my own diet and cardio again.  A little different on the diet front than last time, but something I have done before which worked well.

Right, well off to bed I go I think.

It’s interesting, in about a week or so, I would have been having a baby had it stuck.  Instead I will be in Melbourne doing a photo shoot for a national promotion with a huge media company.  Maybe there is a reason it happened that way…who knows.

Before I forget, if anyone is wondering, our sugar free syrup is in transit from US to Oz and was supposed to be here last week.  I’m following it up.

PS Sorry Jan that I didn’t catch up, I would not have been the best company!

Hello 2010

Well I had a lovely new year’s eve – shared lots of laughs with good friends. Didn’t go overboard on food or alcohol, and thus feeling quite reasonable today. Here are a few snaps from last night. The rain stayed away until about 12.10 am so it was great timing as we were on the way home by then. It was really hot, but very pleasant outside at night. I hope everyone had a great night. I’m looking forward to a big year in all aspects.

I thought you might like this quote:

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”
