Smashed my bench press PB today by 5kg! 60kg (bodyweight of 52kg) for 2 sets of 3. Apparently I only needed help on the 3rd reps. How exciting is it after you have been training for years to do PB’s. Progress comes pretty slow and steady and this stage of the game but I’ve broken 2 PB’s in the space of a week, squats and now bench so as you can imagine I’m pretty happy with myself! I wrapped my elbows with the same wraps as I did the knees the other day. I’m getting into this wrapping business! So, my knee is actually feeling really good today. It had improved a lot yesterday morning, and then I had a chiro visit at 2pm, and because my chiro is such a whiz, I reckon he has fixed it! He also worked on my ankles and feet as well. I can walk up and down stairs pain free today! So I am excited about leg day tomorrow, I hope to be able to squat up a storm
Kristin is coming to visit! I’m flying her down mid March for nearly a week – we are going to do some videoing for my site amongst other things I imagine. I haven’t booked the flights yet, but will get on to that tomorrow.
I’ve noticed there is an increasing number of people employed at the gym who really shouldn’t be – again, in my opinion! Out of shape people who couldn’t inspire or motivate anyone to save themselves. If they can’t look after themselves, who is going to take their advice??? It baffles me that gyms will employ these people who look like they spent the last 12 months sitting on the couch eating KFC.
Eleni – hehe, yep I know the one – I know them all
Too funny you are a Seinfeld fanatic too. Which is your favourite?

HMM..I wonder that myself Sue. It’s got me buggered. And..while I’m at it..why don’t the qualified people who do work at gyms not help people with their form while they are wandering around? I don’t understand that either. I could go on about the first issue here but I might get myself into trouble. Great that your training is off the richter scale! You go girl, you’re in fine form
Congrats on the personal best there Sue. I can assure you that if I tried to bench press that I’d bust something
!!!
Your mention of the people who work in gyms i’d too like to add a comment….Had laugh when I walked in one day and two of the staff were eating potato chips and had a large bag of mixed lollies on the front desk!!! HA!
Hey Sue,
I’m with you about personal trainers or gym workers not looking fit. I mean, I know you don’t have to look like a figure competitor or body builder to be fit but there at least needs to be some sort of indication that the person is healthy.
For those of you reading this who think I am being cruel – here is how I think of it.
You wouldn’t go to a hairdresser who had bad hair or a makeup artists whose makeup you didn’t like.
When you choose to enter the fitness industry – or any other for that matter – you must practice what you preach.
Congratulations on your PB Sue – that is so great!
I’m pretty happy with my gym. Everyone working there is fairly fit especially the PT’s. I’ve been going for about 5 years and they keep up to date with most things and keep it looking clean which I like. I was doing some squats recently and the owner came over and corrected my form. You’d think by now I would have it right but I guess we all need checking every now and then.
Sue – there are too many favourite episodes to mention. There are a couple that come to mind though. the Pez Dispenser – the one where George goes out with the Pianist. He says “I’ve got hand’ and she says, “and you’re gonna need it”. The Van Wyk one where Elaine tries to get that guy to the airport on time. I also love the one where Jerry goes out with one of George’s ex. You know the one where she has a “psycho sexual hold” over Jerry. Like I said, I could go on and on……this is something we will have to discuss further next time we catch up (which I’m looking forward to).

Hi Sue
Congrats on PBs and your previous entry re the lbs loss. With all my whining last week I’m sure you wanted to reach through your computer screen and strangle me hehe! Sorry!
Re staff in gym … well I think you know how I feel about that – they need to walk the talk! That’s one of the reasons I did IBO. The gym where I train at now has the majority of fit and lean staff who are always happy to help out. The owner looks good, he trains, the manager looks good, she trains so I think it goes downline.
Anyway must finish my lunch break and get on with writing words
Cheers Kath
Just started reading your blog – thank you for sharing. I have recently been considering doing mu Cert III & IV in fitness so I read with interest your comment on unfit employees. Keep up the great work – I look forward to reading about your progress.
