Hola from Cancun

Well once again it’s been some time since I’ve posted!  Our holiday has almost come to an end :(   Actually, I’m looking forward to getting home now – we haven’t had very good weather while in Playa Del Carmen and Cancun unfortunately – a bit of a shame when you are at a beach resort!  Playa was sensational – the place we stayed was awesome, right on the beach, one block from the main drag 5th Avenue, yet it was so quiet.  At night it was just amazing, with all the hotels having fairy lights everywhere and even ‘beds’ on the beach!  The beach restaurant at ours was great, we ate lunch there on a few occasions – really good fish tacos!  I’m not sure what the go is with tacos in Australia, as over here, we have not seen one of those hard taco shells.  Tacos in Mexico are soft.  You fill them with whatever you want and roll them up and eat.  Sensational.  I’m definitely overeaten and overdrunk.  I can barely fit anything else in my stomach.  It just happens we are now at an all inclusive resort so all our food and drinks were included in our hotel price.  Unfortunately we haven’t got our money’s worth here as we are just too full!!  I haven’t been to the gym since I was on the ship!!!  Whoops.  Tomorrow, being the day we start the long trek home, I am going to get my shit together and train, follow that with an egg white omelette filled with cottage cheese.   No more crap!  Today for breakfast I had pancakes with caramel sauce, maple syrup, strawberries and pecans!!!  Tonight we ate at a Tapas restaurant.  I get so lazy when I eat this kind of food – plus, when I eat this stuff exercise just seems like a waste of time!  Luckily I do not do this very often :)

Weather has been so disappointing!   The first day in Playa was reasonable, but it rained in between sun.  The following days were windy, cool, with no sun.  And it’s stayed that way all the way through to Cancun.  A few patches of sun today, and that was about it.  Not even warm enough to want to get wet.  And the pools and beaches are just beautiful.

I’ve actually started back doing a bit of work as I’ve been a bit bored!

Tomorrow we check out at 12 noon and will get a taxi at 2.30pm.  Our flight is about 5pm, and is 5.5 hours long back to LA!  A wait of 2 hours, then, 14 hour flight direct to Melbourne.  Our flight has been changed – so now we have an almost 6 hour wait in Melbourne before our flight home to Mildura!  Originally we were going via Brisbane.  So, I’m sure we will be a bit of a mess when we get home.  I can’t wait to see Big Pud. :)   And I cannot wait to have a DECENT cup of coffee!!!!  OMG the coffee is disgusting here, I don’t understand it.  In Playa we actually found a bar with an espresso machine that had good coffee but that was it.  I’ve definitely had the worst coffee I’ve ever tasted in the last week.  Couldn’t even drink it, was like dirty dishwater.  And they advertised themselves as a coffee shop with espresso, cappuccino, etc.  Even in this flashy resort, they have a “Coffee House” yet they use a Nescafe machine!!!!  Push the button and ta-da!  A cup of disgusting ‘coffee’.

Ok well that’s all from Mexico – it’s going to almost be Christmas when I get home, that’s quite amazing.  I can’t wait to get back and get into my training and diet routine again!

The coffee is shiteful, but what a sterling opportunity to stick to frozen strawberry margarita’s and with bucket loads of salt.
