Training update

Thanks to everyone who left a message, blog, phone or email to wish me a happy birthday.  I really had a lovely day and evening!  I enjoyed my dinner out, I didn’t think I went overboard at all, had a piece of Turkish bread with olive oil and dukkah, then an entree serve of a creamy gnocchi dish – definitely rich and not low calorie!  A few nice glasses of chardonnay as well.  Got home fairly late then had a piece of toast with a few spoons of tuna mornay.  No chocolate or anything sweet!

My weight is not moving which is rather frustrating, but I know it’s the way it goes for me.  This is why I am able to advise my clients well as I experience this too. :)  Because I eat clean pretty much most of the time, just cleaning it up further doesn’t really do wonders for me.  I’ve got to shock the crap out of my body before it moves!  I can sit within 2kg of a certain weight even if I eat whatever I want.  I pigged out for 4 weeks on my honeymoon and only gained 2kg.  My body has a set point, a point where it’s comfortable.  Everyone does.  Mine seems to be around 15-16% body fat and about 53-54kg.   To get under that, I have to take drastic measures.  For instance, I am already training 3 x day!!  2 x cardio and 1 training.  5 x week for training, but 7 days week for cardio.  Today I had a one carb day.  By the time I did my 2nd cardio session I was pretty hungry let me say!  But I am really enjoying my meals.  Just loving my salmon or chicken and beans or broccoli.  You know, when people say to me (and they do quite often) “I don’t like veggies” then I believe that they are eating when they aren’t hungry.  If you stop eating junk food and are hungry enough, you will love your veggies.  Sure, if you are used to eating junk all the time, veggies probably don’t have much appeal – have you ever noticed how easy it is to overeat (or keep eating even when well beyond satisfied) pizza, or chocolate?  Not so with veggies.  So, in my opinion and experience, you simply aren’t hungry enough.

Anyway, I have noticed my ab and leg fat is a bit looser, so I guess things will happen sooner or later.  I am loving my arms at the moment, and my shoulders have taken on a more rounded and fuller appearance.  I’m certain that is due to the creatine.

So, I’m not going to have much spare time as of now.  I will be cutting back my programs as I am not willing to run myself into the ground!  I wasn’t prepared to be doing this much training this early on, but I’m not going to argue with my trainer, just do what I’m told!  God help me when I have a hair appointment or have to travel.  So, my days are like so – cardio first thing, training either late morning or lunchtime, and then cardio again in the evening.  In between I’m either cooking/preparing meals, eating, taking supplements, drinking water, having a shower, washing my gym clothes, or, working – it’s easy to forget I have a very busy business to run!  Pity I didn’t get paid to do cardio at the moment :)

Anyway, it’s 10pm and I’m ready to hit the sack.  2 weeks and counting until holidays!
